Our History
The J. Eshelman building has been a source of commerce since 1872, from the early days as a general store, to the feed store it became in later years.
Many years ago, the building was transformed to The Emporium, a well-knows co-op store in the area. In 2003, Deb Tangelder wandered into the then empty, Eshelman Building and found herself completely drawn to the idea of providing the community of Clarence with something special. A few weeks later, Deb’s new baby was born, a “Perfect Gift from Above”, and thus inspired The Perfect Gift (located next to Get Heeled), to open a short three months later – specializing in home décor and unique gifts.
In 2006, Deb’s dream continued to expand and she opened Get Heeled in the building directly next to and connected to The Perfect Gift. Offering a variety of shoes from strappy sandals to heels, to fashionable comfort leathers (Sofft), special occasion shoes as well as boots ! The shop also carries a unique selection of handbags, jewelry, accessories, belts, scarves, bridal accessories and more!
Come treat your feet at Get Heeled – and leave some time to stop next door at The Perfect Gift, where you’ll find home décor, lotions, gourmet foods, handmade jewelry, seasonal gifts and more.
